AmaZulu Lodge is a guesthouse on McKenzie Street in St Lucia, the small town on the southern edge of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The whole lodge sits under thatch, and the rooms take their shape from traditional round Zulu huts. It suits couples and families who want a comfortable B&B within walking distance of town, as a base for estuary boat trips and drives into the park.
What to expect
Rooms are rondavel-style with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, a TV, a mini fridge, a safe and a tea and coffee tray. There are a couple of family rooms and two self-catering units alongside the standard doubles and twins. Breakfast is served in the lapa, and there is a swimming pool, a boma for evenings around the fire and a deck looking over the garden and town.
