About

Travel Africa Guide is for people planning a trip to Africa from overseas who want to know what things actually cost before they get to the gate.

Why this site exists

Park fees in South Africa change every year, they differ for foreigners, SADC citizens and locals, and the official tariff sheets are not always easy to find. Most travel sites quote a number with no date on it. Here every fee shows the dates it applies, when we last checked it and how many published sources agree.

Around the fees we list places to stay, sights, hiking trails, fishing spots, restaurants and bars for each park, town and province, so you can plan the whole trip from one page.

What we cover

South Africa first: all nine provinces, the national parks and the big provincial and private reserves. Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique are next, working north.

How the site is paid for

The site will carry advertising, and some links may later earn a referral fee. Nobody pays to be listed, and nobody pays for their place in a list. Places are ordered by how much useful detail we have on them, with local places ahead of chains.

Corrections

If a fee has changed or a place has closed, we want to know: email hello@travelafrica.guide. Every fee and description lists its sources, so you can see where we got it. Read how we check our data for the details.
